For a second time, Spirae along with Colorado State University and Front Range Community College are partnering together to host a series of 3 classes aimed at providing engineering professionals with a technical foundation for understanding the complex challenges associated with transforming today’s power grid. The courses provide the foundational principles along with hands-on activities that address power systems fundamentals, operations and control, cyber security, and distributed and renewables integration. Each course leverages the InteGrid Lab (www.integridlab.com) – a unique facility in Fort Collins that houses an operational 2MW power system—where hands-on exercises and simulations provide participants experience on a real power system. Additional information, including how to register, can be found by visiting the Smart Grid Certification section of FRCC’s website at http://www.frontrange.edu/smartgrid/.
